Lorraine Copeland (born Elizabeth Lorraine Adie)

is an archaeologist specialising in the Palaeolithic period of the Near East. Her husband was Miles Axe Copeland Jr, and they had four children, all of whom have gone on to have notable careers: Miles Copeland III, Ian, Lorraine and Stewart Copeland. She met her American husband, Miles Copeland, during this period, when he was based in the U.K. during the war, undertaking counter-intelligence for the OSS (Office of Strategic Services).
